About

Vision & values

In an industry that is constantly changing, consistency through attitude and principles is crucial. alpha architect stands for technical excellence, pragmatic feasibility and partnership-based cooperation. My aim is not just to complete projects, but to develop well thought-out and sustainable solutions that create real added value. Values such as transparency, quality, responsibility and efficiency are at the heart of my work. I see technology as a means to an end – not as an end in itself. The goal is always a system that works, is understood and is sustainable in the long term.

Working method

I work in a structured, targeted and solution-oriented manner. A precise analysis of the current situation is important to me before starting a project – because only those who know the initial situation can design tailor-made solutions. During implementation, I combine state-of-the-art technologies with proven principles of software engineering. I value open communication and genuine cooperation on an equal footing – both internally and externally. Each solution is individually tailored to the circumstances and goals of the company in question. I do not think in silos, but in networks – in systems, processes and people.

Industry focus

alpha architect is deeply rooted in the insurance industry – especially in private health insurance (PKV). My particular focus here is on portfolio migration, benefit accounting and process automation. Thanks to my in-depth understanding of technical processes and my experience with standard software solutions, I am very familiar with the challenges and pitfalls of this industry. At the same time, I bring new impulses from other domains, such as logistics or SaaS, which leads to fresh perspectives in solution development.

Understanding technology

For me, technology is not a dogma – it’s a tool. I always choose tech stacks based on the project and with a view to maintainability, scalability and team structure. Whether Java (SE/EE), Spring Boot, modern CI/CD pipelines, Docker containers or cloud-native approaches – I focus on where the technology brings real benefits. At the same time, my understanding of architecture is technology-independent. Good architectural principles are timeless – and a clear blueprint is more important than the latest framework.

Cooperation with alpha architect

I see myself as a temporary partner – not as an external black box. This means: I work embedded in your teams, with your processes, at eye level. I leave no gaps, but well-documented and connectable solutions. My consulting does not end with a concept paper, but is accompanied through to implementation and beyond – as required. Whether it’s one-off support or longer-term collaboration: I focus on the needs of your company and offer flexible, practical support – hands-on and strategic at the same time.

About me – technology with structure and ambition

I am Marcel Sachtleben – a mathematician with a Master’s degree (M.Sc.) and a minor in computer science. This combination still characterizes my way of working today: analytical, structured and always with a clear eye for the essentials. I combine abstract thinking, sound methodology and in-depth analytical skills with practical implementation in the form of clean, efficient software solutions.

What drives me is the demand for quality, performance and comprehensibility – not as an end in itself, but as a means for sustainable, economically viable systems. I believe that good software not only works, but can also be understood, expanded and operated in the long term. My goal is to convince through performance – calmly, reliably, purposefully.

One of my strengths lies in the structured analysis of complex problems. I quickly find the causes and deliver concrete, practicable solutions – a skill that I developed not only during my studies, but above all in my daily practice.

Having worked in the logistics and, above all, the insurance industry, I have developed a deep understanding of complex specialist processes. This is exactly where I see my particular strength: combining technology and professionalism. I speak both languages – that of the developers and that of the specialist departments – and translate requirements into robust, future-proof architectures.
